And finally, after almost 6 months of planning and finding it VERY difficult to keep my mouth shut I am SO excited to share that Girl Grads has been working with WeRoad to bring the GG community a Morocco trip 💫
Lauren and I were incredibly lucky to be invited out with WeRoad last week to try out the trip and make sure it was something the community would love. And it's safe to say, it exceeded our expectations. During the 5 day tour, we experienced Marrakech’s vibrant medina, desert life in the Agafay Desert and the coastal charm of Essaouria 🌊
Like myself, so many of the girls have always wanted to go to Morocco but perhaps felt nervous about going alone. Now you can experience it with us next year 6-10 May 2026!
So let me tell you what’s in store:
Day 1: Welcome to Morocco!

Check-in: our adventure starts in Marrakech
Roundtrip flights or transportation to reach the destination are not included in the package, so you can decide from where and when you want to leave! This gives you complete freedom of choice to adjust your travel itinerary to your needs.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel and get ready to be mesmerised by the vibrant sights, tantalising smells, and lively sounds of Marrakech. Make new friends as you soak in the atmosphere from a rooftop bar and watch the city come alive at night. Take in the Djemaa el Fna night market, where you can indulge in delicious food and be entertained by street performers. Join us in raising a glass to the start of an unforgettable journey.
Included: overnight stay with breakfast at Hotel, breakfast
Not included: airport transfer, food and drinks
Day 2: First Stop? The Desert!
A morning in Marrakesh
After experiencing the magic of Marrakesh by night, it's time to explore the city in the daylight. Start your day with a delicious breakfast, then join a local guide for an in-depth tour of the atmospheric old Medina. Discover the city's narrow streets and vibrant souks as we delve deeper into the culture and history of Marrakesh. Take a stroll through the ancient kasbah, admiring the intricate Moroccan architecture of the palaces and mosques. Take a break and refresh yourself with a refreshing glass of ice-cold fresh fruit juice before continuing your journey through the city. This is a great opportunity to get an authentic sense of Marrakesh and all it has to offer.
The rock dunes of Agafay
In the afternoon, we bid farewell to Marrakesh and embark on a journey to the Agafay Desert. As we journey through the landscape, we will pass by traditional Berber villages, with the option to stop for a cup of green tea while taking in the breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains in the distance. Upon arrival, you'll find yourself surrounded by the mesmerising rock dunes of Agafay, which serve as the backdrop for our desert camp. Take the time to relax and soak in the peaceful solitude of the desert or take a quad bike ride, before finding the perfect spot to watch the sunset. As the day comes to an end, gather around the campfire with your group for a traditional Berber dinner under a sky full of stars. Retire to your Bedouin tent and get ready to wake up in the heart of the desert.
Included: transport, guided tour in Marrakesh, overnight stay in a tented camp with Bedouin dinner and breakfast
Money Pot: admission fees where applicable
Not Included: other food and drinks

Day 3: from the desert to the ocean
The road to Essaouira
Experience the serenity of a desert sunrise at Agafay, make sure to wake up early and take in the breathtaking views as a new day dawns over the spectacular rock dunes. After enjoying breakfast, before the heat of the desert intensifies, we will hit the road towards the cooler Atlantic coast. Sit back, relax and take in the stunning Moroccan landscape as it passes by your window. Take in the unique beauty of the changing landscapes and prepare for the next leg of your journey.
Morocco by the sea
We finally reach Essaouira. Situated on a vast, sweeping bay on Morocco's southwestern coast, and set against a backdrop of lush wooded hills is the seaside town you've been looking for. With its bustling marina, quaint white and blue house, and souk filled medina there is plenty to keep you busy. Take a walk around the city walls which separate the medina from the Atlantic, or go to the beach to relax or try windsurfing or horse riding. Sunset is not to be missed as the fishing boats meet the golden sky.
Included: overnight stay with breakfast, minivan with private driver
Money Pot: admission fees where applicable
Not included: food and drinks

Day 4: Essaouria and Marrakech
A morning in Essaouira
Make the most of your final morning in Essaouira by taking some time to relax or take one last stroll through the UNESCO world heritage site of the Medina. The unique mix of Moroccan and European architectural styles makes it a must-see destination, and there is always something new to discover in the narrow alleyways of the whitewashed buildings. Moulay Hassan Square sits at the heart of the Medina, and it's a perfect spot to grab a seat at one of the cafes and watch the world go by.
Time to return to Marrakesh
As the tour comes to a close, we'll embark on the final leg of our journey, returning to the vibrant city of Marrakesh. After dropping off our bags, we'll have the opportunity to discover even more of what this captivating city has to offer. Explore the souks and hunt for bargains, marvel at the stunning architecture of the Bahia Palace, or take a trip to the picturesque Jardin Majorelle, known for its rich blue walls and beautiful cacti. As the day turns to night, treat yourself to a refreshing mint tea on one of the café terraces around the main square and watch the sunset. Enjoy dinner with your group, reminiscing about the sweet adventure that you've shared. Take one last stroll through the bustling streets of Marrakesh before bidding farewell to this magical city.

*Please note that the money pot is not included in the trip cost. The money pot is for additional activities individuals in the group decide they want to take part in. You can read how the money pot works here. As a rough indication, I took part in the hot air balloon trip, 2 hour surf lesson, 2.5 hour quad bike, Hamman and Massage and Essaouria walking tour so my money pot cost was around £180 in total for all of these activities. There is no obligation to take part in the extra activities and not everyone in the group always takes part. If you do not take part in the extra activities, your share of the money pot will be returned to you at the end of the trip. All money pot costs are recorded on a spreadsheet during the trip for you to see.
