On a sunny July evening, Ravelston Golf Club hosted a "Get into Golf" night designed to introduce the Girl Grads Community to the sport in an engaging and welcoming environment.
The evening kicked off with a warm welcome, setting the scene for a relaxed event with some refreshing drinks. The members provided an enthusiastic introduction to Ravelston Golf Club, highlighting its history and the numerous benefits of becoming a member.
Getting into the Golf
The evening was structured into four stations.
Station 1: Driving
● Here, we practiced power and distance techniques with expert guidance focusing on perfecting our swing.
Station 2: Fairway Irons to Green
● This station emphasised control and accuracy as we honed our skills in approach shots, experimenting with various clubs to understand their impact on the game's dynamics.
Station 3: Chipping
● At this station, participants focused on the short game skill of chipping, learning techniques to improve precision and control near the green.
Station 4: Putting
● The final station concentrated on putting, where we practiced finesse and accuracy in reading greens and making those crucial finishing touches to our game.
The night wrapped up elegantly with charcuterie boards and chilled prosecco, offering a delightful end to a brilliant evening. This final gathering allowed community to socialise further, share stories of their newfound skills, and entertain the idea of future visits or memberships.
